Shit!!! It takes ages to log into Streamyx these days. Even if it says you are logged in, you are still not able to browse through...thus, what I have been facing these few days.
All in all, I have been having problems accessing the Internet and though I use the mighty broadband, more likely it broad beans to me! Trying to get to the helpline...1-300-889515 will take you to a series of voice overs.
After which, you will still need to wait for another 15-20 minutes before an 'agent' picks up your call. Trust me, I have been doing this for the past few days and I have already memorized by heart the number to dial and also the numbers to dial to reach them. Upon hearing a voice, you promptly tell them your account number and then, will ask you what's wrong.
Ok, I have done the troubleshoot like plugging in and out of the Internet lines, or checking the IP Address or even some asking me to restart my laptop; but to no avail. All these fruitless actions do not serve a purpose for me. I do not blame the person on the other line because he / she is trying to figure out their best how to resolve my problem but after so many consecutive days, I face the same problem, don't ask me to repeat steps 1 - 10, ya.
So this evening, before I could even say Hallelujah, the same problem occurred and me being pissed off, called them up and waited like another 20 minutes before finally an agent picks up my call.
Agent : Good Evening, Hafiz speaking, how may I help you?
CG : My system's hung up again (but in no relations to Madonna's hung up).
Agent : Can you please give me your log in or account number?
CG : Okay, here it is....(mumbles off the account number)
Agent : Allow me to confirm your cell phone number...(and spouts out it out mechanically)
CG : Yup, that is correct. Listen, I do not mean to be rude, but I have been calling since the past few days, and I'm sure you will all know that I'm that bitchy person who have been calling and repeating the same problem. Not wanting to sound like an idiot, can you please tell me what is the fucking problem that I'm facing?
Agent : Classic case of system hung, sir.
CG : Again? Look, can you advice me how to avoid this? I don't want to call you guys all the time and waste my time confessing about the same problem (at first, I thought maybe Streamyx is trying to curb my usage, no thanks to my addiction for downloading so much porn..ooopss!!)
Agent : Nah, its not your problem, our main line here has been unstable for the past few days. You are not the only one facing this problem.
From that sentence, I felt in a way vindicated. It wasn't my problem of downloading or even my modem problem but Telecoms that has it fair share of problem. Phew, but then again, my thoughts coming back, how can they inconvenient us by this way? I mean, will all the monopoly that they enjoy and also announcing to the whole world that they have made so much money (taxing from us) since last year, how can such problems exist? Doesn't make sense to me or unless someones not doing their job properly in maintenance of the system? Like they say, pay peanuts and you get baboons...or sorry, monkeys!
Well, for now, the line seems stable, but what about tomorrow? I'm not sure...lets see how long this connection will last me..if not, I will personally take some drastic action, after all, I'm a good paymaster (to the point that I pay even before it is due).
wonder if my streamyx will be normal tomorrow...?
