A NIGHT WITH THE PIGS

As it is CK's birthday tomorrow, we decided to have an early celebration for him. As he wanted something special yet something very oriental and knowing how he loves his meat, we brought him to this place called ELCERDO located at Changkat Bukit Bintang, same row as Frangipani. The restaurant is tastefully decorated & the ambience is pretty relaxing but one thing's for sure, one cannot help to notice is how porky the pig, is being honored all around the place...from vases to wall pictures, you name it, it has a piece of it either showcased or hung on the wall. I believe that's their theme.

So we decided to get him his porky pork...suckling pig, well not a whole lot of it but just half of it to be shared. The skin texture was crispy, and the meat tender and best of it all, it was not as fatty as the last time I had. Usually, I will scrap off the fats but this time, I didn't need to do it as it was minimal.

Before they actually serve you the meat, the whole body is brought out. The Caucasian owner will demonstrate that the pig is so tender and crispy that using a plate, one can even cut it into pieces, not really small ones, but just enough to show that one can do it without using a knife.

After porky has been literally bruised and cut to pieces, the plate that is used, will then be smashed. This is in line to bring good luck to the those who will devour that poor porky. One little porky came into this world only to face the fate of being sacrificed to this bunch of hungry carnivorous beings....anyway, it was the birthday boy's wish, so we had to respect his wishes, no?

Overall, the evening was good and there were many eye candies abound in that restaurant. I wanted to take a picture of him with his girlfriend, but due to the dimness of that place and if I were to use the flash, I think it will not work. Even CK commented that Mr. Gleaming Smile (which I had named him) was very good looking, good enough to devour there and then...woah, hold on there CK, after all, his girlfriend is next to him.
