A Pileful Of Misery

So, I sit here trying to make sense of my painful experience which I'm feeling at the moment. I cannot fathom how excruciating it can be when I sit or even lie down....its really so painful until I have lost all hope of life.

You see, the pain I'm suffering from is piles or better known as Hemorrhoids...and I can tell you that its sucking off the life in me. I cannot walk properly, it affects my sitting too long and then there is always the case where I have sleep...the pain that is caused by a sudden vein pull will inflame more of my suffering.

As I write this, my mind really wants my body to give up what I have in life...go on to the next that is to sleep for all eternally...you see, the pain is such that my mind has come to this conclusion. Although, I really do not want to lose all hope and want to keep things positive, but looks like, sooner or later, I'm drifting to the darker end of my life...and that is to be negative.

I choose to believe that all bad things have an uncommon natural trend to follow up with something good...I always believed in that. That is the way how life moves on....bad n good goes hand in hand...I know I have suffered enough tragedies in my life, but now this is what you will call the "straw that will break the camel's back".

Lying in bed, looking up the ceiling, I look up and ask the good Lord, if He has intended to make me to be his best subject by giving me so many goodies in one year...and then I laugh at it, insisting that he please take it away. But, no answer comes from the above...so I guess the pain will follow, the thought of death will occur more often...and this comes to a point in life, when one suffers, he suffers alone, when one is rejoicing, he is surrounded with friends.

Realizing that friends will only be with you during good times, then when bad times comes...they dissipate like the fog...so how can one call them friends??

Nah, I will not put the blame on them...instead if I really do kick the bucket from this....please do attend my service, and at least decorate my coffin with white n red flowers (all flowers welcomed)...make my funeral parlor into a garden...

I'm not sure when I will be updating good news about myself, but if I do get an instant miraculous healing tonight...(my thoughts to St Jude, the patron saint of the hopeless)....I will make a pilgrimage there and then to better myself after this incident.

THE NEXT INVASION

Every weekday nights over at the free TV, one can watch the antics of the above couple. Yes, my dear folks, its back to the good old Korean dramas dished out to us viewers. Day in day out, the above topics always talk about love and hate, hate and love and then, both seemingly odd couple turns out to be the perfect couple. Ok, what am I talking about? Its this drama....

Yup, its called MY GIRL or should it be re-titled "MY SASSY GIRL??" Storyline, ok here it goes folks, don't get confused here...the plot is very simple, even a 5 year old kid will tell you who will end up with who at the end.

So, the plot here is poor girl from bad background meets up with rich guy (who happens to be dashing and good looking too) and from earlier experience, they seem to be at the wrong paths most of the time. However, as twists of fate turns out, sassy girl happens to resemble rich guy's grandpa's long lost grand daughter. Oh, only in TV land can they turn out such twists.

But, grandpa's about to die you know, and being the filial grandson (oh by the way, did you know that the Koreans subscribed to our Confucius way of life more intently than the Chinese themselves), gets sassy girl to impersonate as the grand daughter. Simple plot yes, but like all dramas, you will have the sub-plots like how sassy girl have to help out real dad who is a gambler pay off the dues and she has to resort stealing oranges from rich man's garden to do so. Ok, nothing is free in this world, so sassy girl agrees to impersonate for a fee...hence we have this drama.

In between the plots, rich guy suddenly finds himself attracted to sassy girl and then worse of all, he thinks he might be falling in love with her. Typical of odd couples making out in the end, right? See, no need to take a drama course or get a degree on it, anyone can be a producer in Korean dramas per se...just ensure you have good looking people acting in it. Then you will have something like a fairy tale storyline to suite the "tai tai's", aunties or even simply put it, the general masses...I mean for the other community, its the looks of the male actor that counts, so that too will pour in the coffers to these producers.

Therefore, the age old question...does beauty sell? Yes of course it does, look at all the other Korean dramas dished out...its all romantic and so fairy tale type, no doubt the Japanese who were once colonial masters of Korea has now been so called colonized by these new generation of dramas from the Land of the Morning Calm.

From what I know, this craze has not only hit our shores but have taken the whole region in such a scream that even traditional regions like Hong Kong or Taiwan and to a larger extent Japan, have been hit by this tsunami wave like craze. Even in Thailand, Indonesia or the great US of A, this seem to be a cult following especially in terms of Korean dramas or anything Korean.

So, from the smirk above, we can have another wave of Korean or anything Korean which will eventually hit us before we all know it. As I speak, I know of one lady in my office (name withheld), she is actually still single but has this adulation for the actor above.

just go up and check him out. Anyway, back to my spinster lady co-worker, she shuts off her pc sharp every day on the dote, mind you just to be back on time to watch her knight in shining armor....I'm like, wow, ok, go ahead sister, if that makes you happy!!

As for me, I have not been a avid fan must confess that I have missed already several episodes, so in true fan sense, I'm not, but I'm bloggin this because I think it deserves to be blogged. So here are more pictures from the drama...

Lee Says Sorry or Did He?

When we look at the clearer picture of what Minister Mentor LKY said in his letter to PM Abdullah which was released to the press this morning and all major papers took it as their headlines, there is a inner meaning to all that was professed.

C'mon, use your mind, a man who actually founded the powerful nation of Singapore, the very man who believed in meritrocracy, equal justice for all, and single handed raises a backwater nation to what is a first world in a midst of chaos in South East Asia deserves another look at it. I believe (speaking of my own opinion here) that he meant to raise a direct concern for the malays in this region, don't play play with the Chinese. He would not just say sorry in this manner.

I mean look at the Chinese especially those in MCA or Gerakan (two major political parties that represent the Chinese interests in Malaysia), they are always so accommodating towards the Malay group...in a way, we have to do it, because to survive, that is the only way. We do not want to rock the boat so to speak because racial harmony is so delicate in this country and most of the time, we are reminded over and over again, we need to be sensitive. Yes, I agree that the only way to be safe is to accommodate but until which level? Which level should we travel to? Do we allow all this to go on and then believe that things will be good in the end?

Ok, before I digress from the actual topic, I wanted to highlight that before LKY actually said sorry, he had defended his actions and at the same time, given his side of the story. Please read the following:-

Singapore needs a strong government to maintain good relations with Indonesia and Malaysia, and to interact with Indonesian and Malaysian politicians who consider Singapore to be Chinese, and expect Singapore to be 'sensitive' and comply with their requests.On numerous occasions, Umno leaders, including Dr Mahathir and many others, have publicly warned Malaysian Malays that if they ever lose power, they risk the same fate as Malays in Singapore, whom they allege are marginalised and discriminated against (see Annex). And from time to time when Malaysian politicians attack Singapore fiercely over some bilateral issues, some of them tell us privately that we should just accept this as part of Malaysian politics and not react to these attacks.Singapore understands the reality of Malaysian politics. We have never protested at these attacks on our multi-racial systems or our policies, except to clarify our own position when necessary. But we have to explain to our people the root cause of these difficulties in our bilateral relations. Otherwise Singaporeans will believe that their own government is doing wrong, either to our own people or to Malaysia.

As for the international audience, with so many foreign embassy staff and foreign correspondents reporting on Singapore and Malaysia, plus tens of thousands of expatriate businessmen working in our two countries, these people will come to their own judgment of the true position regardless of what I say.I have not said anything more than what I have said so many times before. In fact I have said less than what I had written in my memoirs published in 1998.I had no intention to meddle in your politics. Indeed I do not have the power to influence Malaysia's politics or to incite the feelings of the Chinese in Malaysia.Since you took over as Prime Minister in November 2003, relations between our two countries have much improved. Singaporeans and, I believe, Malaysians too, appreciate this.

I am sorry that what I said has caused you a great deal of discomfort. After a decade of troubled relations with your predecessor, it is the last thing I wanted.

PS: The fact that you have written to me is now well publicised. As I have been asked about my reply, I will have to release my letter to the media after you have received it.

The mere fact that Harry actually had to defend his actions and also his insistence on his right to tell the western audience that he was only explaining the real reason on why Chinese in South East Asia had prospered although they were discriminated in many forms. They worked hard, no doubt about that, not being lazy, had education placed at the highest order in their lives and discipline, all this boils down to being a successful race. The fact that the Chinese have a long colorful history dating back to medieval China also contributed the fact that we are survivors. Put any Chinese in any part of the world, and you will see how entrepreneurs they become.

No wonder, the Chinese have been known as the Jews of the East for their ability to handle all kinds of troubles and persecution. Before we forget about the subtle discrimination that exists, look at the larger picture in Indonesia when the local people rose up against the Chinese community there and killed them....why?? Because their only crime is being successful and hardworking than the local people in this case, Malays.

Before we go to the next level to celebrate the 50th year of Nation Building in this country, may I remind the people in power that they have to be responsible about their actions and their actions should be directed to all peoples, not reserved only to one race or religion. I believe that only when we have the common ground to move on, then we will be able to trust each other. I believe that the grassroots level, people to people relationship amongst the races are still cordial, but deep down a resentment does exists. It does, in any multi racial, multi religious and multi cultural nation like ours, it will have to come to a plateau of understanding. I believe we can do it our own way, just that we need some restraining order on those who shout out in the name of religions and race, now, those are the backward people we need to ship them back to some forsaken land and from there, allow them to manifest their craziness...

So, in conclusion, lets hope that meritoriously is widely practiced because if they are not, I really pity our Malay brethren, they will be left out. Just put your shoes on those who had nothing and preserver until the end to make something happen, now that peppered by blood, sweat and guts!
Therefore, my dear fellow Malay brothers and sisters, before you get too comfortable being supported in crutches, wake up as the world will demand more and when it does, you have no choice but to move on. Hence, you really need to wake up to competition...on an equal level before other major races in the world call you as lame ducks!

Absolute Boy Craze

I am a person who never subscribes to any kind of animae series, more likely those that have more than 4 episodes...but this little bugger caught my attention so much, I thought I might as well bring up this topic.

You see, one boring mid week night after gym, while I was resting surfing the usual channels over in Astro, I came across this animae series over at channel 75. I thought to myself, what can I lose out yes, its almost bed time, and nothing much to do, ok, I will indulge in some animae session.

My mind began to wonder if there would be any kinky scenes in this and reality sunk in...well, its Malaysia you know, and its a public channel, but no doubt its being played at such a late hour (10pm), I thought yeah, maybe there should be some subtle kinky hints in it, like all those Japs out there who are born kinky.

So, the story goes, it was in the midst of a cat dance festival in the small town of Tana somewhere out there in Japan. You have several characters but one of them that really brings my mind is Dos and Sense. Two loveable lights hanging in there air....and well, you think these are lights? Think again....

As I followed the plots of twists and turns, I noticed that generally this animae is really slow moving, focuses at the wrong items at times, but darn, its sexual subtleness playing out. The camera focusing on the school girl's short skirt, their legs, their hands, their hair...wow, its like a screaming sexual drama concerning teenage kids. Well never mind the story line which in the end tells of the warm lights and the cool lights...and one strange weird boy named Wakun who never changed in age...hmmm, isn't that what we have been aspiring for? Hey wait. I guess this storyline seems to shout out to the major schools of thoughts...and what a better way to bring this thoughts to young audiences? Ewww...thats pure manipulation of the media!

So, the next time you want to watch a animae like me, just watch out what the hidden message the producers are trying to flesh out, you might be surprised.

p/s I never intended to share the story line here as I believe that you should adopt an open mind to watch this animae, notwithstanding how boring it might be at times, but you have a tendency to fall for the characters...and how can I miss out the opening and closing songs!
Okakababa...what it means? Go watch it if its being shown a re-run.....
